The next table shows which frequencies have been found to produce positive effects for specific inflammatory related conditions.
The frequencies found beneficial are mostly between 1 – 75Hz. A lot of them are between 1 – 25 Hz.
What is interesting is Fibromyalgia was found to have “improved function, decreased pain and fatigue and improved global status in FM patients” with frequencies from 0.1 – 64Hz. The Bemer study showed that Bemer did not help reduce pain in Fibromyalgia patients. My theory as to why this is is Bemer uses 33Hz in their mat but there are 15 sine waves in each Bemer wave. If you want to compare the Bemer wave frequency with this study it would be more accurate to say the Bemer mat has 15 x 33Hz = 495Hz worth of pulses. 495 is outside the 0.1 – 64Hz range found beneficial which might be why there was no effect.
This is the main problem with the Bemer mat. The number of pulses per second generated by the Bemer mat is outside the frequency window that has been shown to give the best results in studies.
